Ibrachy & Dermarkar (“I&D”) was established by Maître Charles Chalom in 1932, who was the head of the Bar Association of the Mixed Courts then.It is considered the Best Law Firms in Egypt In 1952, Hassan & Hussein El Ibrachy and Said Dermarkar entered a partnership agreement with Mr. Chalom forming Chalom, Ibrachy & Dermarkar law firm. Upon Mr. Chalom’s death in 1956, the name was changed to Ibrachy & Dermarkar.

Charles Chalom establishes his law firm.
The law firm prospers and represents many major businesses including most of the companies of the Group Belge (Baron Empain) including Heliopolis Company and Bank Belge.

Hassan & Hussein Elibrachy and Said Dermarkar entered into a partnership agreement with Maître. Charles Chalom.
Charles Chalom relocates to France. The firm then becomes established as I&D.
1956
1961-1973
I&D works in the liquidation of assets of its clients. Business in Egypt becomes quite restricted with the major businesses being nationalized.
Sadat opens up the economy for international investors. As well as new laws and regulations were issued to allow a new business-friendly Egypt.

Bahieldin Elibrachy joins I&D.
– Decease of the late Dr Hassan Elibrachy.
– Counsellor Moustafa Kamel joins the firm.

Decease of the late Mr. Said Dermarkar.
– Decease of the late Mahmoud Mokhtar Beriry.
– Ahmed Said is promoted to the title of partner.
