Experience
Dr. Amir Nabil is a Partner at I&D with international experience in trade and commercial legal matters, including I.P. licensing, franchise, and other forms of commercial agreements. He is among the few Egyptian experts in competition and economic regulation, handling complex merger and acquisition cases and related economic matters in the field. Dr. Amir has advised leading digital companies on compliance with data protection regulations in the MENA region and has solid experience in advising businesses in the pharmaceutical, digital, and tech industries.
He has litigated landmark cases in broadcasting sports rights and restrictive licensing practices of rights owners, successfully winning several cases against companies such as beIN Sports, Lagardere, C.A.F., and FIFA.
Dr. Amir is among the rare experts in the area of merger and acquisition control.
Throughout his practice in London, he advised international clients on their merger transaction under the EU merger control regulations in the banking and maritime sectors. He also advised clients under the COMESA merger rules. As a chairman of the Egyptian Competition Authority, he reviewed merger and acquisitions in the digital, food and healthcare sectors. During his tenure, he drafted Egypt first merger control chapter. He also advised clients in relation to the acquisition of IP-related rights. He drafted merger remedies in mega transactions helping clients to secure approvals for their transactions. He is among the rare experts in the area of pharmaceutical regulations and has assisted clients in this said sector in relation to their commercial agreements under international trade laws and regulations.
